Based in Exeter, Lack of Afro, or Adam Gibbons as he's known by his doctor, is a talented multi-instrumentalist raised and fed on nothing but the finest funk. Having played saxophone, guitar, bass guitar, keys and drums in a plethora of bands throughout the years, this is his debut solo outing under the Lack Of Afro moniker - and one we're sure you'll agree is just waiting to burst out of your record box and do damage! Reminiscent of the raw and heavy funk style of The Quantic Soul Orchestra and The New Mastersounds, 'Wait A Minute' is a break led monster of epic proportions - with nearly all instrumentation (save a few samples) handled by the young producer. Although retro in inspiration, like his contempories Adam brings the funk sound up to date without sounding too polished or synthetic - and of course with an eye firmly fixed on the dancefloor!

Keeping things up to date, we asked nu-funk fiddlers Kraak & Smaak (it means nice and tasty in Dutch to set the record straight!) to rework the track in their own style. Beefing up the beats and taking elements from the original master tapes, they push the track in a more straight up clubbier direction, with enough drops and builds to please DJs all over the musical spectrum. With 2 more Lack Of Afro tracks already in the can (including a fresh Natural Self remix) as well as an album in the pipeline, there's no telling how far the West Country's boy wonder will go ''
